Built for Miter

I'm at an inflection point in my career and life. I've only scratched the surface of what I'm capable of and the hunger to be better is as strong as ever. To continue evolving, I need a nimble environment that prioritizes ownership and autonomy. One that understands a future defined by AI will be architected by dynamic builders, like myself, who can innovate with customers at the core. All with the singular goal of bringing a critical industry online. That place is Miter.

Modern society is a complex machine. As our interactions become increasingly digital, we ignore the input and infrastructure required to run the world around us. These large and essential industries, like construction, need shepherds that connect our digital and physical worlds with new technological rails. Doing so sustains and advances our future for generations to enjoy.

That's why what Miter is building is so special. It truly matters. The gravity of the mission, and the associated challenges, are a rare combination that excite me beyond measure. Just as important, the team operates with true intention and a strong sense of purpose. That's hard to find. I want to make real impact and what better way than creating the rails that define a better built world. I'd be extremely proud to work at Miter.

To date, the construction industry has relied on a mix of disjointed solutions: manual documentation, one-size-fits-all products or slow-moving industry veterans with little incentive to innovate. As a result, companies in the space have continued to face labor challenges, lost revenue and project shortfalls. Miter gained entry into the market by solving a very problem: labor management. They proved there's a clear need for software purpose-built for construction made by a company with deep technical acumen.

To continue growing, Miter must develop an expanded product suite with the intention of owning the complete operational stack. In true app founder fashion, I sourced related insights across contractor-specific forums, Facebook groups, app store reviews and more. I identified three opportunity themes with potential to be the next major business lines for Miter.

• Command Center: All construction employees generate new data daily. Although, they lack visibility of those actions, or lack thereof, and how they disrupt important business workflows. Across discussions and reviews, I noticed a recurring frustration centered on minimal visibility and delayed discovery. Things like payroll errors, missing receipts, labor needs and project risks. There is a key opportunity to build an personalized agent workforce that preemptively flags, prompts and solves issues for key stakeholders before they become costly surprises.
• Procurement Network: Material procurement is one of the most fragmented workflows in construction. Contractors rely on phone calls, supplier portals and spreadsheets to source what they need. All with little visibility into pricing, inventory or delivery timelines. Multiple people express this causes unnecessary friction and administrative overhead. A unified procurement network would simplify sourcing, approvals and purchasing while giving contractors better insight into supplier performance and project spend.
• Field Assistant: Many of Miter's field labor workflows still depend on accurate human behavior in an environment that's anything but predictable. Crews forget receipts, select incorrect job codes and submit information late. They're juggling competing priorities in a world that naturally keeps them away from devices. The goal is to adapt to field realities by rendering an accurate timeline of events autonomously. I envision recollection infrastructure that intuitively derives events from action utilizing inputs such as audio, GPS, spend history and more.
